Business in Jerome
I came to Jerome for the first time in 1985 and even then I knew I would return. And return we did, a couple times a year for the new couple of years. That changed when in 1999 I was hired as their Chief of Police. While I had retired from that line of work, I could not refuse when approached by the Town to apply for the position. With that we packed our bags and moved here from Michigan. My wife Jackie and I bought the Ghost City Inn http://www.ghostcityinn.com back in May of 2001. We have never regretted that purchase, and the last couple of years have found us busyier then we could have imagined! I am still the Chief of Police, I recently left the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce to become the President Elect of the Jerome Historical Society. I really do love this town!
If you haven't been to Jerome you must make it a place to stop on your next trip out west. Jerome, Arizona is like no other place in America and will capture you once you arrive. We have incredible art galleries, fine dining, excellent accomodations, breathtaking views, and a history like no other town in America.

Just got back to upstate from a whirlwind tour of Arizona that included Jerome which I have dubbed " WOODSTOCK ON STILTS".. its a kickass place with a great community...a must see for any Arizona itinerary.

In 2005 my husband and I stayed at the fabulous Ghost City Inn for two nights on our travels around America...(the breakfast is to die for)We will be returning to Jerome this coming July but unfortunately just passing through this time after spending a few hours walking the little streets and browsing in the shops... But who knows we may stop over!We love the place and came across it just by chance in 2001.

My husband and I have stayed at your Inn for 2 years now. And have decided to come back every year on our anniversary. I have truly fallen in love with Jerome and is what AZ really is. Most people will go to Sedona, which is also beautiful, but Jerome captures that old west soul that so much of modern AZ has lost. Thank you so much for keeping this little town unique with privately owned businesses. My family and I will be back for many years to come!

Glad to know that Jerome is in good hands. Our roots run deep in that wonderful town. My great-grandfather Ysmael Montes, came from Mexico to work in the mines. He later established the Yavapai Meat Market. My grandmother Mary Montes, his daugher, married my grandfather, Roman Morales, and they raised 6 of their 7 children there (losing their only two daughters in infancy). My grandmother's sisters and my own father, Mike Montes Morales, and his brothers have shared so many wonderful stories and we continue to keep the memories alive so that our own children and grandchildren may appreciate where they come from. Thanks for keeping Jerome alive for all of us to share.

I went through Jerome with a local Phoenix person and just loved it. The art and jewelry is much cheaper than Sedona and everything is less commercial. It is truly the small town with the small town feel. Loved it and will come back for sure now I bought a home outside of Phoenix. The driving was bit scarey though!
